Clive Doyle - Chairman

A professional Safety Officer and former senior police officer who has previously and is still running safety operations for football and rugby union at league level, as well as international football, rugby union, rugby league, half marathons and musical concerts. Clive has been a prominent charity volunteer for over ten years, so he is very experienced at charity events held in public places.

Steve Laws - Managing Director

Steve Laws is one of the Training Directors for the TESS Group. He has been working with established Football Safety officers, trainers and assessors for the last 5 years. Having recently retired from being a Police Officer, he has three decades experience in Law Enforcement and training. Steve’s training qualifications include Certificate in Education with Greenwich University, NVQ level 4 in Learning and Development with OCR, Internal verifier V1 Award with City and Guilds and D32/33 Assessor certificate with OCR.

He has established the TESS Group with Clive and Rod Doyle as a training, event and consultancy company. Providing training solutions, advice and professional guidance to Event Organisers, Stewards at Sporting/Leisure events groups and local government contractors.

Rod Doyle - Managing Director

As a Director of The Tess Group, Rod Doyle has first-rate experience of managing and creating a variety of bespoke training solution packages for companies ranging from SME’s to public sector organisations and large private businesses. Alongside designing numerous courses, he has also managed multi-million pound contracts across public sector and private corporations, and managed teams across the companies that he has worked for previously. The wealth of knowledge that he brings with him is well reflected throughout the courses that The Tess Group provide, and his management style is such that the finished products, delivered nationally, are tailored, unique and sure to create further success for you.

Having had many years’ experience in the Learning and Development sector, including consultancy roles, and training and coaching positions, he is highly qualified to facilitate courses including Sales, Leadership and Management, Employability, Stewarding and Customer Service skills. He possesses Qualified Teacher learning and Skills Status (QTLS), and holds a Certificate in Education from Bedford University. Rod is also a member of the Institute for Learning (MIfL) and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development. Not only is he qualified to design, write and train courses in numerous sectors, he also has the A1 Assessor Award, enabling him to assess NVQ candidates.

His passion for Learning and Development, translates in to the training environment that he works in, by wanting to empower the customer to create their own success via what they learn

Kerry Doherty – Director of Sales and Services Solutions

Kerry Doherty has over 20 years’ experience within both the Learning and Development and Contact Centre sectors. A variety of UK and European roles held including Business Improvement, System development and implementation, Contact Centre operations and Quality and Training across multi-site, multi-channel, in-house, outsourced and off-shored Contact Centre operations.

A collaborative leader with senior management experience with a proven track record of results delivery.

Qualifications include NVQ level 4 L&D, NVQ level 4 management, A1 Assessor Award and is currently studying British sign Language
