Learners will develop the underpinning skills, knowledge and understanding required to work in the hospitality industry in catering roles such as chef, kitchen or catering assistant or school cook.
The objective of this qualification is to allow learners develop knowledge in areas such as food safety in catering, preparing, cooking and finishing basic dishes and working effectively as part of a hospitality team.
This qualification is designed for those who work in or wish to enter the hospitality sector. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification.
The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Professional Cookery). has been accredited by the qualifications regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
