  2. Initial Assessments (Complete BOTH maths and english assessments)

Many of our courses are provided without charge to learners. They are funded the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), and in some cases may match funding provided by the European Social Fund (ESF).

As a condition of claiming this government funding, we are required to gather certain data to carry out certain identity / eligibility checks for our learners.

You MUST be unemployed to receive the funding for this course. Please attach your unemployment evidence and ID to the required section on the application form.

What should I provide to prove I am unemployed?

We require a universal credit screenshot of your ‘my commitments’ page or if on Job Seekers Allowance,  we will need a letter within the last 3 months. If you can not supply these, please email us so we can complete an alternative evidence form.

What form of ID is acceptable?

We will accept a copy/photo of your driving license (and provisional), birth certificate or passport. Just one document is needed.

Why do I need to provide these personal details?

The above details must be supplied in order for you to show that you are eligible to live and work in the UK as part of the Government funding guidelines.

  1. You must provide unemployment evidence to show that you are unemployed or in receipt of Government benefits. This is because you can only receive these courses for FREE if you are an unemployed individual. The SSU programme has been developed to help those who are out of work, build their skill-set and prepare them to get back into the workforce.
  2. You must also provide a copy/photo of your ID to show that you are eligible to live in the UK and therefore are allowed to receive Government funding.

Any and all personal details that you provide are confidential within your application.
